Over time, Bollywood has developed experimentation where their scripts are concerned as well as with their fashion statements and makeup looks. But one aspect of Bollywood celebrities which has remained relatively unchanged through the years has been their hair.
Think about it - how often do you really see Bollywood actors and actresses really exploring a brand new hairdo? Rarely, we'd say. Of course, there are exceptions in Amyra Dastur's daring crop, Pooja Bhatt's shock of pink hair and Lisa Haydon's platinum blonde locks. For most others, the hair colour palette has strictly revolved around tones of warm chocolate, honey blonde and reddish brown.
So it came as quite a surprise when we spotted Parineeti Chopra sporting a brand new hair colour yesterday. The actress has freshly arrived in Mumbai after what seemed to be a wonderful getaway to the Maldives. While Parineeti hasn't been seen onscreen since 2017's Golmaal Again, she made her present felt during cousin Priyanka Chopra's engagement to Nick Jonas and at Namaste London promotions. While Parineeti has previously been in focus for her body transformation and fashion choices, it's a first where her hair is stealing the spotlight.
We aren't saying that her deep burgundy locks which show up fiery red in the light are particularly novel but it's a refreshing change in the Bollywood landscape and for the actor who has, until now only sported blonde and brown hues. Parineeti's new hair colour is also reminiscent of Katrina Kaif striking red locks in 2016's Fitoor. Now whether it's for a fun change or a movie role, only time will tell.
Another actress who is changing up their 'do for a movie role is Sonam Kapoor. Recently, the actress showcased a head full of tight curls, a look that channels Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Sonam's new locks are reported to be part of her look for her upcoming role in The Zoya Factor.
Like Parineeti and Sonam, here's hoping to see much more vivid colour, cuts and styles in Bollywood, movie role or not.
