2.0 Making Video: Rajinikanth's Reaction When He Watched The Film In 3D For The First Time

New Dehi: Team 2.0, yes the makers of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's much talked about movie, delighted fans with yet another behind-the-scenes video from the sets. The video is actually a brief documentation of what makes the movie special. Director Shankar says 2.0 will undoubtedly stand out because the implementation of advanced 3D technology - it's been "shot with latest 3D camera, directly" and not just a 2D print converted into the 3D format. "The film has been shot in 3D not because of the technology but because the script demanded it," said the director. It appears that all the fine tuning and hard-work are yielding brilliant results already. And the proof is in Rajinikanth's reaction when he watched scenes shot in 3D for the first time.

"The first 3D shot I saw on a small screen. Repeatedly I was watching it... don't know how many times I watched because it was mesmerising," the 66-year-old megastar says in the video. "Working in 3D is a lot harder than I imagined from the set up to the extent of how perfect things really need to be in every single shot," adds Akshay, who shares screen space with Rajinikanth for the first time. "As for India, it is such an experience that the excitement is 10 fold," he adds.

Shankar wraps the video with an assurance we all are going to love: The 2.0 experience will be "no less than any Hollywood 3D movie."

Akshay plays the antagonist - Dr Richards - who turns into a birdman like creature after an experiment goes wrong. Amy Jackson is also part of 2.0, which is a sequel to Rajinikanth's 2010 film Enthiran. In the movie, Rajinikanth will reprise his roles as scientist Vaseegaran and also his creation Chitti just like the first part. Actors Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain are also part of the 2.0 cast.

2.0 was earlier expected to hit screens on Diwali but has been rescheduled twice with the release date being shifted to the Republic Day weekend in 2018.
