In today's edition of the Tamil Nadu Brief, NDTV's Sam Daniel reports on Madras High Court's stay on the newly enacted laws, given assent by the Supreme Court invoking its own powers empowering the state government to appoint Vice Chancellors, clipping powers of the Governor. The ruling DMK moves the Supreme Court against the centre withholding funds for the ongoing Samagra Siksha programme over the state not implementing NEP. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has directed the Tamil Nadu DGP to file a status report over allegations by a woman that her husband, a DMK functionary attempts to force her to sleep with party functionaries.
