Bikaner’s Karni Mata Temple: Here The 'Sacred' Rats Are Revered As Much As The Goddess
This white-domed structure rising up in the sky looks like any other temple in a land dotted with temples. As you move closer, the usual hustle and bustle, typical of temple towns, greets you. Devotees mill around, forming neat queues to enter the temple. The first sign that this is no ordinary temple strikes you when you read a small signboard with the temple's name. It is the renowned Karni Mata Temple, in Deshnok town, approximately 30 kilometres south of Bikaner.
