Prashant Kumar Thakur, Director General for Fire and Emergency Services and Civil Defence, said a video conference was held with the Home ministry to reactivate the civil defence preparedness machinery that already exists in most states. He said that 33 districts have been identified in Karnataka to conduct the security drills. One among them is Bengaluru, owing to its population, wile another is Raichur, which is sensitive due to the presence of a thermal power station. Kawa district has been identified due to its nuclear power station.
