Malaika Arora Shares HIIT workout

HIIT is a broad term used to define high-intensity interval training, which involves short periods of intense exercise with a short recovery period. Here's a breakdown of Malaika Arora's intense workout sesh:

  • Jumping jacks: Jumping jacks - a combination of aerobic exercise and resistance work - is an efficient total-body workout. It is an excellent exercise that works on your glutes, quadriceps, and hip flexors. It also helps manage weight, reduce blood pressure, and keep your cholesterol and blood sugar levels in check. All you need to do is begin by standing with your legs straight and arms on the sides. Jump and spread your feet beyond hip-width apart while bringing your arms above your head. Now, jump again and lower your arms and repeat. Malaika recommends doing it for 60 seconds.
  • Glute kicks: As the name suggests, this exercise strengthens the glutes, supports the lower body and improves balance and posture. And bonus- it also helps strengthen your core and boost metabolism, which in turn can help you lose weight. For this lower-body exercise, stand in one place and start hopping by bringing your right heel to your buttocks. Malaika suggests doing it for 40 seconds.
  • Roping: If you have ever done skipping in your life, this exercise would be easy for you. Pretend you have a jump rope in each hand and start jumping while rotating your wrists at the same time. This exercise is a great way to improve heart health, burn calories, and strengthen the core. Doing it for 50 seconds can help burn calories.
  • High knee taps: High knees activate your hamstrings, calves, glutes, quadriceps, and hip flexors. A great exercise to burn fat, you can do it easily at home. Start by standing hip-shoulder apart and your arms by your side. Bring your right knee toward your chest, slightly above your waist, and switch to the left leg in a pumping motion. Now, repeat and keep doing it with alternating legs. 30 seconds of this exercise is all you need to feel the burn!

This is an easy at-home HIIT workout that can help you burn calories and keep your health in check. However, always check with your healthcare provider before adding any new exercise to your workout regimen.
