Pant suits aka powersuits, the 80s trend saw a major comeback in the winter of 2017, but it's going to be taking over the streets in 2018. It's been a year of genderless fashion, and the power suits had to be included. And the power suits have quite a lot of a long, tumultuous history too, they were first popularised by Yves St. Laurent in 1966, the first to break the stereotype of gendered fashion norms. And if the future is, indeed, female, we're all for women strutting in the comfortable and glam pant suit, as they take over the world.

At a time when the US is a hotbed of controversies, bristling with social and political unrest with women's freedom and place in society often feeling under attack, many designers used fashion as a make an ideological statement, vocalising their support for female power and rights through their designs. The power pant suit was one of the most widely adopted symbols of fashion's ideological revolution. From being spotted on the runway by designers like Altuzarra and Nikhil Thampi, to celebs getting their bad ass mode on in it, we predict that the power pant suit is going to take the world by storm this year.

Here are a few celebs wearing this trend for you to start the new year on a 'don't mess with me' mode.
