We're reaching the end of the holiday season, and I'm sure that by now, like me, many of you fashionistas are a tad bit bored of the skirts and dresses we've been dutifully wearing to parties. Sure you've probably paid a bomb for them, they're gorgeous and are an easy effortless way to dress up in very little time, but one has to shake things up every so often to keep the fashion spark burning bright. So here are some equally glam options to the ubiquitous dresses and skirts, for the party season.

1. Go The Extra Mile With A Jumpsuit

If there's one thing easier than a dress to slip into, it is the jumpsuit (but yes, we have to admit, bathroom breaks are a pain in them!) Jumpsuits are chic, glamorous, effortlessly classy and can be dressed up or down, depending on what the mood of the party is. Wear it with a pair of pumps and a faux-fur jacket for a fancy do, or throw on a denim jacket and some chunky jewellery for a more casual vibe. Either way, you'll be good to go within minutes, in a jumpsuit.

2. No Sequins, No Party

How can a holiday party be complete without a little sequin thrown into the mix to brighten the spirits. No matter what you're wearing, once you add a sequined jacket to it, you're one hundred percent party-ready. I literally cannot think of any other single piece of clothing that can instantly take you from drab to fab in two seconds. If you don't already own one, you need to change that ASAP.

3. Matchy Matchy Like A Pro

With matching sets or co-ord sets, there can be very little to experiment, but if you give it your own personal touch, it can be a great look for a party. Wear a statement necklace with an overcoat and some thigh-high boots and be assured, no one will be wearing the same outfit as you.

4. Go Fancy In Velvet Pants

Velvet pants, a lace top, a pair of booties and some glitter on your face... You'll definitely make heads turn. But we can't guarantee that you'll ever want to slip off those pants (come on, it's velvet, after all!) and slip into a dress again.

5. Go Sexy With A Bodysuit

If it's Gigi Hadid-approved for the holidays, it has to be worn. Bodysuits are the new everything. And every fashionista worth her label(s) HAS to be seen in one. Wear it with your pleated skirts or a pair of jeans, throw on a faux-leather jacket and you're ready to hit the party like a runway model.

6. Comfort Dressing Is Always A Yes

At the end of the day, fashion is for you, not the other way around. So if comfort clothing is what the heart desires, it is exactly what it shall get. Wear them with the right attitude and you can even wear PJs to a party -- it's not just us, even top designers are saying that, from Michael Kors to Celine. Pair them with heels, or even with just high-tops and a bold lip colour and your 100-watt confident smile and strut into the party. If you want to take it up a notch, pair your PJs with a white tee and a leather jacket. Now that's how you make a statement.

As they say, life isn't perfect, but your outfit can be. So, which one of these alternatives to dresses are you going to try?
