Come spring time and you can expect an avalanche of floral prints in pop tones to hit stores. It's so well expected that you can even time the arrival of flower themed patterns and accessories like clockwork. But that doesn't mean we ever get bored of it. Season after season, spring and summer runways bloom like a garden with daisy prints, watercolour flower patterns and even blossoming head gear to match. Miranda Priestly's dry retort might have made it abundantly clear florals wouldn't work for her. But we say bring it on. It looks like Mindy Kaling heard us loud and clear.
At a launch event, the star turned up looking bright and cheery, like a beautiful English garden. The actress-writer turned up to support her friend Tory Burch, who was launching her perfume. Burch's fragrance 'Just Like Heaven' has hints of hyacinth, mandarin and rhubarb which, we can imagine would smell like a citrusy summer dream.
To complement it perfectly, Mindy wore a Tory Burch sleeveless white midi dress in bright red, blue and yellow floral prints. With it, she paired nude strappy heels and a navy blue clutch. Keeping the beauty look fresh as well, Mindy wore her hair in an updo with glossy nude lips.
The lady of the moment, Tory Burch too wore a floral printed dress in a different toned print. The two posed against an orange dotted green backdrop which made for a pretty picture.
While the much-loved print is quite a celebrity favourite, many shy away from wearing blooms, just because of how overwhelming they seem. If you're one of them, these fashion tricks can make it much easier.
1. If you're a floral first-timer, opt for smaller, micro-prints in the pattern. They are subtle enough for most occasions and won't take away from the rest of the outfit.
2. Try deeper floral shades like navy blue, burgundy and emerald green if the thought of pop tones like reds and yellows feels too bright to pull off.
3. Opt for a single floral printed piece of clothing like a blouse and pair with a neutral toned garment like beige trousers to bring out the prints without going overboard.
Now go out and start blooming.
