You've been each other's support systems since god knows when. And now she's getting married. Whether it came as a surprise or you've been in denial - suddenly, you've realised the wedding is right here and you don't know what you're wearing. We've all been there and we have your back. Keep these few things in mind and you'll look gorgeous by your best friend's side - and can deal with all the bridezilla moments!
1. Attire:
It is after-all your best friend's big day. You have to put your best fashion foot forward since you will be by her side throughout. There are so many options and trends that are in the market and it's okay if you can't make up your mind. Always remember, do not get carried away or get overwhelmed with the trends of this season - just make sure you are comfortable in what you're wearing. You're going to be on your toes, handling a lot - so that is imperative. Going Indo-western is a great option. It's comfortable yet stylish. For example - wear a peplum top with a saree or a crisp shirt with a lehenga. Try wearing different styles for different occasions. It's always nice to experiment and be different from the crowd. Like Sonam, you can try adding that ultimate finesse to your outfit by layering it with a delicate gold necklace.
2. Makeup:
Don't go overboard with your makeup. Remember, less is more - you don't want your face to look caked up. Getting your makeup done by a professional makeup artist is always a great choice for such special occasions - they'll be able to help you with your makeup according to the outfit. Do some research before the wedding and figure out a few makeup looks that you think will really suit you. If you have a particular look you want to go for, show it to the artist beforehand so that they know what you want.
3. Accessories:
Your outfit is never complete without some accessories. Now remember, you're not the bride, so don't overdo it. If your outfit is on the heavier side, go easy on the jewellery. Also, do carry a bag, even if you don't like carrying one. We don't mean a tote bag, but a potli or a small pouch, or a clutch. It'll help when your best friend hands you her phone and other knick knacks to hold onto.
4. Hairstyles:
For any function, choose a hairdo that's suitable for the occasion and works with your face cut. With your Indian wear, simple updo hairstyles with loose curled strands are always a good idea. With all the running and dancing, they'll stay secure throughout. Tuck in an embellished hair comb or pin to add a touch of glam. Just as you would with your outfits, don't repeat your hair styles. Maintain a different look for every occasion!
5. Footwear:
Do not, and I repeat, do not wear shoes that are uncomfortable or that could give you a shoe bite. You'll be miserable for most of the occasions and with the running around you will be doing, it'll just be worse. Opt for footwear that you're most comfortable and confident in and you'll be ready to rock it at your bestie's wedding!
