3 Things You Should Probably Stop Doing In The Metro Train
Ask people to -shift- to make space. Not

I think we can all agree that Metro Rail is a boon to every city it is operational in. From Delhi to Bangalore, everyone finds it really easy, comfortable and economical way to travel across the city. In fact, there are so many lines that are yet to open up in the various cities. Delhi, for that matter, will soon be connected all over with metro rails. With such a great service at hands, civil sense dictates that the citizens be respectful and appreciative of this great public service. But do we? Climb a certain yellow line at a certain time and you will see people clambering to save their lives. Well, metaphorically.

Keeping that in mind, here are a few things you should just not do when inside a Metro Train.

Ask people to “shift” to make space

This one boils blood like nothing. There is a reason there are a number of seats available on a bench, it is because only those many people can COMFORTABLY sit there. To ask people to “shift” is causing them discomfort for your gain. No.

Talk loudly, or worse, play loud music

What is this? Your drawing room? A concert in making? No one is asking you to not take calls on the train, but do it softly. Don’t make sure the whole compartment knows what you are talking about. Also, earphones.

Hog all the floor

Okay granted that sometimes people sit on the floor of the rail, and the intersection between two compartments, and also near the doors. But to keep all their luggage around and block the whole space is not cool. It is quite hard for other people to navigate you see.
