Kangana Ranaut's Sister Is Waging War On Claims Actress Is Also Guilty Of Nepotism

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel has posted a series of furious tweets after DNA ran a story accusing the actress of 'encouraging nepotism.' Kangana, 30, is currently the fulcrum of a controversial back and forth over whether or not Bollywood is nepotistic - actors appear loath to acknowledge that it is, and at the recently concluded IIFA Awards, Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan chanted 'Nepotism rocks' in what was clearly a barb aimed at the actress, who called Mr Johar Bollywood's 'flag-bearer of nepotism.' The DNA report, published today, suggests that Kangana is also guilty of nepotism by 'promoting her brother Akshit, who is seen with her everywhere' and appointing Rangoli as her manager.

An angry Rangoli, who is pregnant and not currently managing Kangana, wrote in separate tweets: "Hanging around with your own brother isn't called nepotism. Family members often go out with each other." Rangoli, who survived an acid attack, also wrote: "When I had an acid attack, I lost all confidence. She held my hand and got me back to life. Is that called nepotism?"

Rangoli also upbraided screenwriter Apurva Asrani, who has alleged that Kangana Ranaut was unfairly given writing credits for the film Simran over him. Mr Asrani also tweeted recently accusing the actress of being nepotistic. Rangoli has responded with several tweets - one is reproduced below:

Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan have all apologised for the IIFA jibe, which they say was meant as a joke. Kangana Ranaut, who is currently recuperating from a nasty gash on her forehead after a sword-fighting scene for her new film Manikarnika: Rani Of Jhansi, has not commented on what happened at IIFA or on what the three men said afterwards.
