IIFA Awards 2017: Date, Time, Venue, Preparations - All Details Here

New Delhi: The 18th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards is keeping the Internet very interested and here we are with the details of what is expected to go down this year. The IIFA awards, the venue for which is New York's MetLife Stadium this year, is actually stretched out for four days with the main award ceremony being scheduled for July 15. The main event will be preceded by IIFA Rocks on July 14 with blockbuster performances by Diljit Dosanjh, AR Rahman, Aditi Rao Hydari, Benny Dayal, Hariharan, Haricharan Seshadri, Jonita Gandhi, Kailash Kher, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Neeti Mohan and Svetha Rao. The performance-based show will take place in MetLife Stadium. Celebrities can be spotted on the IIFA Rocks green carpet 6 pm onwards while curtains for the event will open only at 8 pm.

Meanwhile, here are the details of the IIFA awards on July 15, which is early morning of July 16 in India:

The first two celebrities most likely to be spotted on the IIFA stage are Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan, who are co-hosting the show. The award ceremony will be interspersed with dabangg performances by celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Kriti Sanon, Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Varun Dhawan. Stars will start arriving on the IIFA green carpet 6 pm onwards while the main event in scheduled to begin at 8 pm.

Press conferences at the Metropolitan Ballroom and dinner parties at the Pierre Hotel are also part of IIFA awards' official itinerary along with a business forum scheduled on the morning of IIFA Rocks. The IIFA awards will wrap after a closing party on July 16.

Celebrities like Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon have already arrived in New York while Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan and others are expected to arrive in the Big Apple soon.
