Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is 'unstoppable' at the box office
Ayushmann Khurrana made his Bollywood debut in 2012
Ayushmann had releases three this year
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh describes Shubh Mangal Saavdhan's box office score as 'unstoppable.' The film released on September 1 and has so far earned over Rs 31.86 crore while Bareilly Ki Barfi, which hit the screens last month, currently stands at Rs 32.23 crore. The Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari-directed film also starred Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao.
Ayushmann Khurrana, 32, singer-turned-actor, made his Bollywood debut with 2012's hit Vicky Donor. In the last five years, the actor starred in films like Nautanki Saala, Bewakoofiyaan, Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Meri Pyaari Bindu. 2014's Dum Laga Ke Haisha, which marked Bhumi's debut in the industry, won two National Awards.
Ayushmann has earlier confessed that he thinks he is best suited for 'unconventional roles.' "I think I am meant for unconventional films, which is why I will be skeptical if choosing any conventional films. I think we all have to carve our own niche in the cinema industry. And these kinds of films work for me - whether it is Vicky Donor, Dum Laga Ke Haisha and now Shubh Mangal Saavdhan," Ayushamann earlier told IANS.
