Tamannaah Bhatia 'Confident' About Recreating Queen's Magic In Telugu Remake

New Delhi: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who is all set to star in the Telugu remake of Kangana Ranaut's 2014 blockbuster film Queen, is confident that the team will be able to 'recreate the magic,' reports news agency IANS. The film was officially launched today and has been titled Queen Once Again. "It's an exciting project and I love doing roles that talk about women empowerment. I'm confident we can recreate the magic of the original. At the same time, not make our film look like a frame-to-frame remake. We'll adapt it to suit Telugu sensibilities," she told IANS. Kangana's Queen was directed by Vikas Bahl and the film fetched the actress a National Award for Best Actress.

Queen narrates the story of Rani, who goes for her honeymoon to Paris alone after her fiance calls-off the wedding on the final day. The trip transforms her completely. Rajkummar Rao played Kangana's fiancé in Queen.

Of starring in Queen's remake, Tamannaah told IANS, "I wasn't even sure if it was going to be remade. What makes Queen special is that it's one of those rare women-centric films which succeeded in reaching out to everybody, across all sections of the audience."

Queen Once Again will be directed by Neelakanta Reddy. Tamannaah will start shooting for the project from October 25.

The film will also be made in Tamil and Kannada. The Tamil version has been titled Paris Paris and stars Kajal Aggarwal in the lead while Parul Yadav headlines the Kannada film titled Butterfly. Actor-filmmaker Ramesh Aravind is directing the Tamil as well as Kannada versions of the remake.
