Simran Box Office Collection Day 6: Kangana Ranaut's Film Makes Almost 15 Crore

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut's new film Simran opened to a lukewarm response from the audience and has been at the theatres for six days now. Simran has managed to score almost Rs 15 crore in terms of ticket sales, reported trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who also shared a day-wise break-up of the film's box office collections. Wednesday has recorded the least single day numbers for Kangana Ranaut's film with Rs 1.16 crore while Sunday is when the movie scored the highest in a day. The overall score of Simran currently is Rs 14.47 crore and counting, as tweeted by Mr Adarsh. Simran's opening weekend figures have been recorded to be less than that of Rangoon, her war drama which released in January this year.

Simran's box office reports have also dragged Kangana's next film Manikarnika to feature in trends. But the film's producer Kamal Jain dismissed rumours that Manikarnika is to have budget changes because of Simran's low opening day figures.

In his review for NDTV, Raja Sen says Hansal Mehta's Simran belongs to Kangana Ranaut and explains it this way: "Robbing a bank is traditionally a man's job. According to the FBI, the few women caught in bank robberies are mostly accomplices or driving the getaway car. Of course, the phrase "traditionally a man's job" is anathema to Kangana Ranaut and the defiant characters she plays, which is why Simran - a story based on a real-life female bank robber - sounds tailored for the actress."

Simran done, Kangana Ranaut is currently busy with Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, in which she plays the protagonist.
