Lay You Down has been sung by singer-songwriter Rehan Dalal, popularly known as Ray Dee. The very graphic choreography is courtesy Karishma Chavan.
In an interview with GQ, Mumbai-based DJ Nanok said Monica and Anushka were natural choices for the video. "I just wanted to make a video about an emotional moment between two people in love. But then I thought why can't it be two girls? And I didn't want it to be any two girls. I sent Monica and Anushka the song, and without beating about the bush, asked them if they were up for it," Nanok told GQ. Team Nanok completed filming the song in eight months.

Monica Dogra, 34, is one part of electronic rock band Shaa'ir and Func. Monica has made headlines for her efforts to start conversations on sexuality and feminism. Talking about sexuality and her take on it, Monica told news agency IANS: "Sexuality is fluid and no government, in my opinion, should infringe upon the right to choice because that is violating nature itself. The wave of feminism is beautiful and much needed."
Earlier in September, Monica released her new single Shiver featuring names like Adhuna Akhtar, Deepti Datt, Navya Singh, Chandni Sareen and Elton Fernandez.
When asked about her creation, Monica told IANS: "I don't want to send out a message. I wanted to start a conversation. I am actually trying to not explain my art anymore but rather leave it up to interpretation."
