Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai: Abhay Deol'sTamil Debut Film Is Intriguing

New Delhi: Abhay Deol is all set for his Tamil film debut in director Rathindran R Prasad's Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai, the teaser of which released on Saturday. Abhay Deol plays the role of fictional king Vikramadithiyan in Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai (which means 'story narrated by a phantom'), based on a group's search for secret societies existing for centuries such as the Illuminati and the Freemasons. Actor Ashwin Kakumanu, Guru Somasundaram and Aishwarya Rajesh feature in lead roles. Abhay Deol is also co-producing the film with Basak Gaziler Prasad. "He was so impressed with the script that he decided to come on board as the co-producer. The kind of encouragement we got from him was amazing," Rathindran Prasad told news agency IANS.

Abhay Deol lost 10 kilos to play the role and makes a blink-and-miss appearance in the teaser towards the end. Watch the teaser of Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai:




Talking about Abhay's role in the Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai, the director said: "He plays a full-length character; a king called Vikramadityan, and he will dub his own lines in Tamil. He will be seen in the flashback portion which has a period set-up. It's a road action thriller laced with fantasy."

Filmmaker AR Murugadoss shared the teaser on Twitter and welcomed Abhay to the Tamil film industry. The Socha Na Tha actor replied: "I am proud of this one, and the people who made it happen. Thanks for your support."

The music of Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai is composed by Ghibran, who earlier gave music to Kamal Haasan's films such as Uttama Villain and Papanasam.
