Gauri Khan Ensures Cirque Le Soir Party In Mumbai Will Be 'Unforgettable'

New Delhi: It's none other than celebrity interior designer Gauri Khan, wife of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who's been roped in to design the Halloween party to be hosted by London's famous night club Cirque Le Soir. To be held on October 27 in Mumbai's Taj Lands End, the much-awaited party will ensure that it remains "an unforgettable night" for the guests, Gauri told mid-day. In her interview, she added that the setting has to match up to the party scene at London's Cirque Le Soir and that she Mumbai will not settle for anything else:"We all wanted to create a space like no other. It had to be luxurious to the point of decadence," she told mid-day.

This is Cirque Le Soir's first stint in India and keeping up with the theme of the club and the occasion of Halloween, clowns and magicians are expected to add a surreal touch to the party. The promoters of the high-budget event - VVIP Universal Entertainment - will also reportedly bring in six performers from the London club itself. Imtiaz Khatri, who headlines the sponsoring company, told mid-day that Gauri Khan was their only choice for designing the lavish event.

Halloween at the Mumbai event will be as gothic as it gets, said Gauri Khan: "The sets will be ethereal with luminous ruins that will transform from heaven into hell with a shift in light. (There will be) demons crashing through gothic gates guarded by winged angels and more."

Gauri Khan recently inaugurated her interior designing store Gauri Khan designs in Mumbai's Khar area. She has also helped celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar set their places up.

In Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri are known to have hosted lavish parties at their residence Mannat for special guests like Apple CEO Tim Cook and Coldplay frontliner Chris Martin. The Khans will have also reportedly invited American DJ Diplo and his band Major Lazer for a dinner party at their place sometime early next year.
