Esha Gupta, Trolled For Sultry Pics, Says 'It's My Body'

New Delhi: Actress Esha Gupta, provocative pictures of whom sent the Internet into a meltdown that lasted days, is defiant in the face of trolls posting abusive remarks on her Instagram posts. Esha, who has now disabled the comments on her Instagram account, has been roundly slut-shamed for a series of pictures from a photoshoot in which she poses in various stages of undress. Speaking to Miss Kyra, the 31-year-old actress said she had been prepared for the shaming and that she didn't think the pictures were 'vulgar' - "It's my body," Esha Gupta asserted. The model-actress has been a fixture at the top of the trends list this past week.

"In our country, women are eternally blamed," Esha Gupta told Miss Kyra, adding, "I knew that I will also have to face a lot of heat. After all, it's easiest for some faceless and redundant people to pull a celebrity down at the first opportunity. I've done shoots like this one when I was a model. I've gone topless and naked, too. No one ever asked me about that."

"And who are these people who have 'issues' with my pictures? It's my body and it's been shot aesthetically. There's a thin line, which if you cross, you look vulgar. No one can say my pictures are vulgar. I got more love than hate, but it's better to be hated than to be forgotten," Esha told Miss Kyra.

Esha Gupta, who had a major role in Akshay Kumar's 2016 film Rustom, is the latest actress to be trolled on Instagram for posting pictures their critics deemed inappropriate. Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Soha Ali Khan, Sunny Leone and Fatima Sana Shaikh were recently shamed for their choice of outfit.

Esha Gupta is currently promoting her new film Baadshaho, co-starring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz. The historical heist drama is scheduled to hit screens on September 1.
