Durga Puja 2017: Kajol Welcomes The Goddess With A Pic From Last Year's Festivities

New Delhi: Durga Puja is round the corner and the festivities have already begun for our favourite Kajol. The 43-year-old actress, who was last seen in VIP 2, posted a divine picture featuring Goddess Durga on Instagram on Wednesday. The picture posted by Kajol is from last year's Durgotsava, in which the idol of Goddess Durga is looking mesmerising. Durga Puja or Pujo (as it is called) is the festival that marks the battle of Goddess Durga with the demon Mahishasura and her victory over him. The festival epitomises the victory of good over evil and is celebrated with great pomp and show. Kajol captioned the picture: "Last year she looked like this. Power crackling off her. Wonder what she will look like this year."

The countdown to Mahasaptami began from Mahalaya and in keeping with the festive spirit, other Bollywood celebrities also welcomed Durga Puja festivities on social media.

Recently, actress Bipasha Basu posted a colourful and bright picture of Goddess Durga on Instagram which read: "Shubho Mahalaya" (beginning of Durga Puja festivities).

Kajol was last seen in Tamil film Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, co-starring Dhanush while Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale remains her last Bollywood movie. She is all set to launch her home production and the film will go on the floors in November.
