Deepika Padukone's xXx 3 Hero Vin Diesel 'Will Do Anything' That Stars Her. True Love

New Delhi: Deepika Padukone's Hollywood debut xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage has made hardly a dent in the Indian box office, despite its very grand release here a week early, superintended by Deepika, Vin Diesel and director DJ Caruso. Box Office India reports that the film has made only a little over Rs 15 crores in its first weekend, which began not on Friday as is usual in India, but on Saturday. This lukewarm start notwithstanding, Deepika Padukone herself is a blockbuster hit with critics and with Team xXx 3. Vin Diesel, 49, has declared himself ready and willing for a Bollywood project, as long as she's he's co-star. "I'd do anything with Deepika Padukone in it," he told The Hollywood Reporter. True love, this.

Deepika's xXx 3 director DJ Caruso told The Hollywood Reporter that he had watched her in Piku and that the film "shattered (his) misconceptions about Bollywood being escapist. It was like an Alexander Payne (The Descendants) movie." He also revealed that Deepika had originally auditioned for one of the Fast And Furious films, a franchise that stars Vin Diesel. "She couldn't be part of that project due to scheduling issues. But I liked the chemistry between (Deepika and Vin), which is why I cast her," DJ Caruso said.

Deepika Padukone stars in xXx 3 as Serena Unger, opposite Vin Diesel's eponymous Xander Cage. In his review for NDTV Movies, Saibal Chatterjee said that the actress held her own in what he described as a "monumental waste of firepower." xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage also stars Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev and Samuel L Jackson and releases globally this week.

Deepika Padukone is currently working on Padmavati which reunites her with her Bajirao Mastani director and co-star, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh. Shahid Kapoor also stars.
