Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Father Hospitalised. Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Visit Him

New Delhi: Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father, Krishnaraj Rai, who was hospitalised in Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital few weeks back, has been shifted to the ICU, reports news agency PTI. Aishwarya, her actor husband Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan paid a visit to Mr Rai on Wednesday night. An Indian Express report quoted a source as saying that Aishwarya's father had cancer in the past and he is likely to have had a recurrence. He was supposed to return home after a two-week stay in the hospital but has now been shifted to the ICU, the source added. Earlier, Aishwarya, who was in Dubai for New Year reportedly rushed to Mumbai to look after her ailing father. She was there with Abhishek and their daughter Aaradhya.

Abhishek has also returned to Mumabi from New York to meet his father-in-law. Pinkvilla confirmed the reports and quoted a source from the hospital as saying, "Yes he has been in hospital for the nearly two weeks. Aishwarya is taking care of him despite her being alone as Abhishek was in New York for work. He just got back. Recently at Aaradhya's sports day, Aishwarya was seen cheering for the kids and her own daughter too. But simultaneously she was also keeping a tab on her dad's health." It further added, "Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been there constantly and managing Aaradhya and her father in hospital. Abhishek Bachchan too is present in the hospital and is being with Aishwarya throughout."

Professionally, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, who married in April 2007, will are likely to be seen together is Anurag Kashyap's next, titled Gulab Jamun, reported India Today. So far, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have made no announcement - neither denying nor confirming the report. The couple has earlier worked in films such as Kuch Naa Kaho, Guru, Dhoom 2 and Sarkar Raj.
