2.0: Rajinikanth Has 5 Different Looks And Akshay Kumar Has 12?

New Delhi: Rajinikanth fans, rejoice. The superstar will be seen in five different roles in S Shankar's magnum opus 2.0, reports mid-day. Rajinikanth will play a scientist, a robot, two dwarves and a baddie while his co-star Akshay Kumar, who plays the prime antagonist in the film, will be seen in 12 different characters, suggests mid-day report. With 2.0, Akshay is debuting in the Tamil film industry. His first look of a bird-like creature was revealed earlier by the makers of the film. 2.0 is easily one of the biggest and the most-anticipated films of the year. It is a sequel to Rajinikanth's 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, which released in Hindi as Robot. Rajinikanth reprises the role of Chitti the Robot and Dr Vaseegaran while Akshay will be seen as the villainous, Dr Richard, a scientist.

2.0 has been made under a budget of Rs 450 crore. However, ahead of its release, the film has already made a business of Rs 110 crore. The satellite rights to the film - which will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi - have been sold to Zee Network for Rs 110 crore, news agency PTI reported.

Last week, several crew members attacked two photojournalists in Chennai, after they questioned why the film unit had blocked a road. 2.0 director Shankar, apologised on behalf of his crew members and told the local press, "I am sorry. I shall ensure incidents like this don't repeat. It has happened without my knowledge."

2.0 is scheduled to release on October 18 and also stars Amy Jackson, who has replaced Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Akshay and Amy co-starred in Singh Is Bliing.

Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman and sound designer Resul Pookutty are also a part of the film.

Earlier in March, director Shankar on Twitter revealed that with 'one song and some patch work,' 2.0 would be completed.

2.0 also stars Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey.
