
India's electric commercial vehicle (ECV) market is growing steadily, according to the latest retail data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) for May 2025.
In May 2025, sales of electric commercial vehicles reached 1,019 units, which is a 13.22 percent increase from the 900 units sold in April 2025. Compared to last year, this is an even bigger jump of 84.36 percent, as only 553 units were sold in May 2024. The ECV market share also increased to 1.35 percent, up from 1.06 percent in April 2025 and 0.70 percent in May 2024, showing steady growth in the market. Electric Commercial Vehicle Retail: May 2025 Overview
Tata Motors Ltd achieved the highest sales among manufacturers, selling 223 units. However, this represents a 15.53 percent decrease from the previous month and a 10.1 percent decline compared to the same month a year prior.
In contrast, the Mahindra Group reported strong sales figures, with 189 units sold. This marks a 13.86 percent increase month-over-month, and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility contributed to an impressive 950 percent increase in year-over-year sales.
PMI Electro Mobility sold 147 units, which represents a 21.81 percent decrease compared to last month, but a significant increase of 126.2 percent compared to last year. In contrast, Switch Mobility showcased fine sales with a 257.14 percent increase from last month and a remarkable 346.4 percent increase from last year, selling 125 units.
VE Commercial Vehicles also reported strong growth, selling 74 units, which is an 89.74 percent increase month-over-month. Additionally, Olectra Greentech saw a 140 percent rise, selling 60 units compared to just 25 units sold last month.
Pinnacle Mobility Solutions achieved impressive growth, with a 230 percent increase both month-over-month and year-over-year, selling 33 units in May 2025. In contrast, Euler Motors experienced a slight decline of 15.79 percent compared to the previous month, while IPL Tech Electric saw a 19.05 percent increase.
