Bajaj Auto is all set to bolster its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of a new Chetak model. Likely to be called the Chetak 3001, the upcoming scooter is expected to arrive later this week, aiming to strengthen the company's presence in the increasingly competitive electric scooter segment. Although official specifications are yet to be confirmed, early information suggests the Chetak 3001 could either serve as a new addition to the current range or replace the existing Chetak 2903. The scooter is likely to be powered by a 3.1 kW electric motor, and have a top speed of 62 kmph.

Staying true to its nomenclature, the Chetak 3001 is expected to feature a 3 kWh battery pack, balancing range and performance for everyday usability. On the design front, the new model is likely to mirror the styling of the existing Chetak range, with no major visual changes anticipated. In terms of dimensions, the scooter is likely to measure 1,914 mm in length, 725 mm in width, and 1,143 mm in height. It is expected to offer a ground clearance of 168 mm and have a wheelbase of 1,355 mm. The unladen weight will likely remain at 123 kg, with the scooter riding on 90/90-12 tyres at both ends - a setup consistent with the current models.

When launched, the Bajaj Chetak 3001 will go up against the likes of the TVS iQube with the 2.2 kWh battery and the Ola S1 Z.
