A new flashpoint has emerged between India and Bangladesh following Bangladesh's comments on Indian minorities. The Bangladesh government has rejected charges that it had any involvement in the violence that has struck parts of Bengal, such as Murshidabad. They also called on India to protect its minorities. This has drawn a sharp rebuke from India, which has stated that Bangladesh is indulging in virtue signalling and accused it of allowing perpetrators of violence to roam free. With India withdrawing transhipment facilities to Dhaka after Mohammed Yunus' remarks on northeastern states, it remains to be seen whether this latest exchange will lead to action from either country.
