Operation Ghost SIM: Army, Assam Cops Bust Racket Linked To Pakistan
In a massive crackdown on a nationwide cybercrime syndicate, the Assam Police launched Operation Ghost SIM in collaboration with the Indian Army and successfully dismantled a racket that was using fake SIM cards linked to Pakistan. The Assam DGP said seven people have been arrested, and 15 detained. The people have been arrested from across the country – Rajasthan, Telangana, and Assam. The SIM cards used would receive a WhatsApp OTP and the OTP was subsequently used by operatives in Pakistan to seek vital information.
