In the early hours of Wednesday, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians on April 22. The Defence Ministry stated that the operation, which targeted terrorist infrastructure planning attacks on India, was “focused, measured, and non-escalatory.” The sites included the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur, Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke, and Hizbul Mujahideen’s headquarters.
