Former Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande (retired) speaks on some security scenarios during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 11 years in power. General Pande served as the Indian Army chief from April 2022 to June 2024. "The kind of clarity and convergence that was displayed between the political aim, the political leadership and the military strategy is something to be noted," the former Indian Army chief told NDTV. "In terms of utility of force, I think it is shown as to how force can be utilised to achieve strategic objectives. Also, If I may say here, while defence and diplomacy are complimentary, this has shown how defence can come on its own and contribute to meeting strategic objectives."
