Can Kashmir Be Quickly Stabilised?

Tensions are soaring after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a move Pakistan calls an "act of war." Pakistani nationals are also being rounded up from across the country and being told to leave India. In a significant development, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has pledged America's support, stating, "We are with you as you hunt down those responsible." With 73 Congressmen, 20 Senators, and top US leaders, including President Trump, backing New Delhi, momentum is building for potential military strikes. All this comes on a day when there was machine gun fire across the LoC - speculative fire by Pak forces to test Indian defences, Indian soldiers retaliated - with no loss of life. Amid the firing across the LoC as well the diplomatic standoff between both countries, the question remains: Can Kashmir be stabilised quickly?
