Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the fastest-selling mid-size SUV in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced a major milestone for its mid-size SUV, the Grand Vitara, with cumulative sales surpassing the 3 lakh mark. Achieving this feat in just 32 months since its launch, the Grand Vitara sets a new benchmark for the segment, underscoring its popularity among Indian SUV buyers. If one were to average it out, Maruti Suzuki sold over 300 units of the Grand Vitara every day since the SUV was launched. The Grand Vitara has played a pivotal role in strengthening Maruti Suzuki's presence in the highly competitive mid-size SUV category with established models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv ICE and so on.

It is available with a choice of a hybrid powertrain as well as Suzuki's Allgrip Select 4x4 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, making it one of the few in its class to offer both, a hybrid powertrain and off-road capability. Maruti Suzuki currently has the biggest share of the pie in the affordable SUV segment, with products like the Brezza and Grand Vitara on sale. The company will further look to consolidate its position in the mid-size SUV market, with the impending launch of the e-Vitara, its first fully electric car.
